"Don't just dream and think about places you want to explore, take action. There will always be an excuse to not go, so just go! You will create experiences and memories that will last forever."

How did you first get introduced to the outdoor lifestyle?

My best friend Ryan one day in High School turned to me and asked if I wanted to go camping over Christmas Break. We started doing it every year in North Florida near some natural springs. That eventually gravitated to a week long backpacking trip in Linville Gorge, NC. Couple years later I moved to Colorado and then my interest for the outdoors really took off.

Favorite place to visit?

That is a really tough question to answer because there are so many places I have yet to explore. So far I'd have to say my favorite has veen the Inca Valley and Machu Picchu.

What is your most memorable outdoor story?

I've had so many but I'd probably take it back to my very first backpacking trip in North Carolina. My best friend Ryan and I were out in the back country for a whole week! Our backpacks were extremely heavy and we didn't have the most knowledge of being in the back country but we were excited to get on the trail! After hiking for days and many miles we reached a pretty amazing campsite on the river in Linville Gorge. We were able to swim across this raging river just enough to grasp the granite rock which had a nice little climbing route. In nothing but a bathing suit we climbed free solo up about 40 or 50 feet to a raging waterfall. Best shower I've ever taken for sure!

If you had one tip for beginners getting into outdoor recreation, what would it be?

Just go for it, it's never going to be the perfect time but I promise it will nurture your soul and feel great.

Final thoughts...

Don't just dream and think about places you want to explore, take action. There will always be an excuse to not go, so just go! You will create experiences and memories that will last forever. It will eventually inspire others to do the same which will lead to a lot of peoples lives being changed for the better. Also, don't plan too much ahead because things are constantly changing. The best way to travel is to book a flight and look up a rough draft itinerary you'd like to do and then just go with the flow. I spent 10 days in Peru and all I had booked was my flights and a ticket to Machu Picchu and it ended being the most amazing trip because things just happened naturally.
